To The Park

To the Park! My Best Day Ever (Every Week) 🐾🌲

Every Sunday, something magical happens.
I don’t know what day of the week is what—time is a flat circle—but somehow I always feel it coming.
Park Day.
The first time Mom and Dad took me, I lost my entire mind.
All of it.
Gone.
We stepped out of the car and BOOM—wind, squirrels, grass, lake smells, hoomans, tiny hoomans, DOGS. My tail turned into a helicopter and I took off like a poodle-powered rocket.
Mom kept saying, “Heel, Tucker,” but honestly, how am I supposed to heel when LITTLE PEOPLE EXIST??
I LOVE little people.
When I see them, something short-circuits in my brain:
Tail → helicopter
Feet → pogo sticks
Body → pure chaos energy
I don’t mean to pull—I just want to greet my tiny friends! They’re small! They’re squeaky! They smell like snacks!
The park is HUGE, with a three-mile loop around a big lake. We walk the whole thing. It has boardwalks over swampy bits where frogs are plotting things, bridges with super sniffable railings, and a long asphalt path right through the playground and picnic areas.
The playground is my favorite.
So many little people.
So many potential new friends.
So many Goldfish cracker crumbs just lying there, waiting for a hero like me.
And the lake?
FULL of Canadian geese.
Let me tell you—those geese are suspicious. They honk. They waddle. They stare. I stare back. It’s intense. Like a nature documentary where both of us think we’re the main character.
We also pass walkers, joggers, and other doggos. I want to greet every single one. ALL OF THEM. I am the official park greeter and the hoomans should thank me for my service.
Now we go every Sunday afternoon.
Every week.
My best day.
When Mom gets my leash, I do the Sunday Spin™—three tight circles that signal my soul is leaving my body in excitement. Dad laughs, Mom sighs, and I try to drag everyone to the car because THE PARK IS WAITING.
If you ever see a poodle with a helicopter tail trying to greet every creature within a three-mile radius…that’s me.
Come say hi.
