Murphy’s Standoff: Stories Behind the Story

Hope’s Takeover

Hope Murphy here. My mission, besides give you a small update on me, is too beat my brother as the newsletter hostess with the mostest! Although I realize my brothers are now considered men, it’s sometimes hard to swallow. They’re such guys. The only thing I haven’t heard them do lately is laugh about bodily noises. Thanks goodness.

It’s difficult to admit, but I’m very proud of my brothers–and intimidated. Not physically. They’re a bunch of teddy bears. However, there’s nothing more difficult than following behind three intelligent, good looking, and successful men. Plus, they’re making fantastic husbands. Nate hasn’t experienced fatherhood, but I’m betting that is coming soon to a book near you–after mine is published.

Just between you and me, I’ve made kind of a mess of my life. I guess I was too worried about competing with my brothers and not focusing on what I wanted to do with my life–other than give my parents a headache. That part really sucks. I have an awesome family. I wanted to make them proud not give them heartburn. Things are different now. I’ve got a plan. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

This time my plan has to work–if Jack Cline holds up his end. You remember Jack don’t you? He’s the one I made out with in the driveway. I was sixteen. Drove Whit crazy. Anyway, he’s my partner in the plan. Did I tell you he’s all grown up with a heart of gold. Who knew? Hang in there. My story was planned for Spring, but wouldn’t you know my parents’ new story edged me out. Like really Mom and Dad.
